Mathematical Thinking Project

The Mathematical Thinking Project aims to investigate how mathematics engages with society. The project will focus on mathematics in an evolving world and how it is used, adapted, advanced and transferred. The outcomes of this project are expected to include a new global initiative in computer and machine intelligence-assisted research mathematics and new insights in indigenous and gender-specific aspects of mathematical thinking. The project will accelerate improvements in mathematics education in Australia and stimulate the establishment of a Silicon Valley-style collaboration framework with industry to address economic and social challenges such as the future of transport.
