Richard Brent
Richard Peirce Brent is a mathematician and computer scientist whose contributions to these fields have spanned number theory, random number generators, numerical analysis, computer arithmetic, algorithmics, analysis and combinatorics. During his long career, Richard has supervised nineteen PhD students to completion, taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics and computer science across five Universities, and shown himself an able administrator in his stints as a Head of Department at ANU and Oxford. Richard is currently a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, an Emeritus Professor at the ANU, and a Conjoint Professor at the University of Newcastle.
