You will probably arrive at either Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Munich airport.
Even though
Stuttgart airport is
the closest,
we recommend
that you fly to
Frankfurt airport
because
flights are likely to be cheapest (but rail travel will cost more) |
you probably need to change trains least often (maybe once; train station at the airport) |
trains are more comfortable and faster (total journey time comparable to Stuttgart) |
You can research your journey from airport X to Blaubeuren by public transport at the web site of Die Bahn.
A link, named `trains', to the site of Die Bahn is available in the left side bar on all pages of this web site.
Be warned that the site of Die Bahn allows for very precise specifications in the From/To destination fields. We recommend that you enter `X airport' respectively `Blaubeuren central' in those fields if X is the city where you touch down.
Having done that and pressing the button marked `Search connection', the system will return the message that there are several stops which match your search criteria. We recommend that you ignore this message and press the button marked `Search connection' again to get your travel advice. You can however also choose between the available options, which will be given in German, for example by specifying your arrival terminal.
If you wish, you can then go on and purchase your ticket also. Alternatively you can buy your ticket upon arrival.
We recommend that you take a taxi from Blaubeuren train station to the Heinrich-Fabri-Institut (address: Auf dem Rucken 35). Look out for other particpants of the workshop to share a taxi with.
